I love the idea of drugs and music. I'm not overly interested in whether an artist has taken them when they make music but just the whole idea of a trippy journey filled piece of music really floats my boat. If thats the artists intentions than great but if it's not it's even better. I like to think that the unintentionally trippy songs are the best because even the artist hasn't thought about where it's meant to be going.

I hardly ever take drugs yet a lot of the music I listen to just sort of takes me away anyway, I guess. Dopesmoker by Sleep, it's rediculous the amount of noise that is present there yet I pick up a rhythm in amongst all the noise and it's great. I also love the last 4 or 5 minutes of the Spaceship Landing song by Kyuss. Stuff by Hawkwind is particularly awesome, it's just psychedelic through and through.

I find I always sit there and think how awesome it would be to be on something and listening to the song, but even then it's still great.

I smoke weed and I’ll explain what my feeling when I smoked well and playing/hearing music. Simple introduction about me; I’m not a musician but play guitar in very basic stage. Never done music as a subject and I just after this because of interest in music.

Smoking weed

1. Give me relax mind to listen carefully anything
2. Gives me the ability of hearing tiny music parts in the chorus
3. Gives me the ability to capture exact chords and when I’m listening and following chords of a song
4. Gives me the ability to sing well, my voicing is pitching well
5. Gives me to ability of creativity thinking/playing
6. And after smoking weed I can’t hear heavy rock or anything hurting my ears.

Drinking alcohol

1. Can sing loud (no idea about pitching) and can dance till drop
2. Heavy metal music stuff are welcome LOL…

hope this will help you!

Yeah this is great, exactly what I am looking for thank you. Have you ever tried a drug or acted in a way because a famous musician has?

Also does anyone know of any other good sites like this that loads of people go on and I can post some questions on?

I think it's because drugs open your eyes and your mind to new perspectives which help your creative juices flow! Stereotypically lsd would go with Jimmi, weed with rock and E with dance but that's not always so, anyone can be into any music and may or may not take drugs. Just like people can write good music with no drug influence. I've never been influenced by a bands actions, I like to make my own choices and discover things my way.

that's cool, that's the way I would do it,
I used to take them on occasion, and I would say it was much more decided by peer pressure. I didn't care what bands were doing it. A lot of my friends I hung around with were pretty smart people and they did it, so I figured it wouldn't hurt me. I'm not saying I'm proud of it.
