Music Censorship
In my english class, i am having to lead the class in a debate on a topic. I have decided to do Music Censorship. The blinking out, editing of music in order to hide the lyrics. I've always felt that song is a form of speech, and doesn't the US's Constitution allow freedom of speech? By the way, this is based in America, not all over the world.
So, pretty much I was just wonddering what some of your thoughts were on the matter? |

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

i don't think it should be taking into effect really, its no different from any other from of art. If its overly suggestive, or inappropriate the artist is going to have to deal with the consequences himself, and as long as they make sure to advertise it correctly, so you don't have a bunch of pissed of Mormons doing a giant bonfire with your matireal.

the censor ship of music is a stupid thing, but its also a bit of a blessing. when kids see the sticker on the cd that still contains all lyrics they want it more, if they get stuck with the censored cd they will eventualy buy the real thing later on thus selling more albums for the band

Radio censorship I can understand, extremely public. Plus those who really appreciate good music don't really listen to the radio anyhow, so it shouldn't be a problem to the audiophiles out there.
A guy once told me they were thinking of banning all music. I believed him. I'm too gullible sometimes.
