Alright, I realise that there are a multitude of bassists out there that may have more talent than Simon Gallop, but when you hear a song by The Cure, you hear 3 distinct tracks that are literally the essence of the music: Robert's voice, Simon's bass-line, and Porl/Robert's/etc. guitar lines. I'm also a fan of Kim Deal. She really does make The Pixies what they are...it's not all Frank Black/Black Francis that makes their music what they are.

I'm also big into Rodger Walters of Pink Floyd, Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. They go without saying...
