Oh, yeah....let's not forget Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy). He was a great frontman, songwriter, lyricist and his bass playing was very tasty. I dig the chorus effect he frequently used.

I'm sure Jamerson holds the record for bass player who has performed on the most number 1 hits, at least by different individual artists.

Jamerson's bass playing with The Funk Brothers saw them get more number one hits than the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Elvis and the Beatles combined!
