I'm sure Jamerson holds the record for bass player who has performed on the most number 1 hits, at least by different individual artists.

What boo boo said, I posted that list as an example of his bass playing to illustrate to a member who claimed he'd never heard any of his stuff.
Which obviously everyone has. Take the first one on that list. My Girl by the Temptations. Ask anyone how that song goes and the chances are they'll 'der' the bass line intro instead of singing the opening lyrics. On a note of interest Geddy Lee is a great admirer of Jamerson. I'll even argue that he's the most influential bass player ever. |
