Nathan Watts. I love his work on Stevie Wonder's live album "Natural Wonder".

I'm not a fan of the band he belongs to, but Ryan Martinie is pretty damn amazing. I'm awed by the sounds he can make with his bass.

Geddy Lee is the one guy who can make the average music fan really notice the bass.

Getty Lee, Wooten, Flea, Ben Kenney, Les Claypool, and Mike Dirnt, my personal favorites

What was I thinking!? I forgot Fieldy was bass, I guess I'm too used to Head even though he's gone. But yeah that's who I meant.

Mike Watt is definitely one of my favorites. Jaco Pastorius and Les Claypool are amazingly skilled. Squarepusher is another good one.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard any of Wooten's material (that I know of), but I hear him come up when people talk about good bassists a lot. Anyone have any recommendations?
