The term still applies, imo. It doesn't have to be around today for me to label it something that exists. They sound screamo to me. Plus I didn't even mention MI in my post, so at least you knew who I was talking about - amirite?

(After listening to a little more of their music, I realize that he doesn't scream all the time - now they kinda sound like a demure Cake if Cake was an emo band when the lead singer talks, hehe, good stuff though.)

The term doesn't apply. That's why I said anything. They're as straight up emo as you get there's no mistake or interpetation about it. They were a first wave, standard defining band. Screamo has the defining emo qualities, but emo doesn't have the defining screamo qualities.

But apparently I'm not the only person who made the connection to screamo. So at least I'm not crazy.
