As for my personal favourite it's a tie between Ice Cream For Crow, Trout Mask and Lick My Decals Off Baby, for now anyway (haven't quite got my head around Strictly Personal just yet). |

I'm thinking of using one of Beefheart's songs in this Poetry Anthology project I have to do for my English class. One of the peoms we have to choose has to be a "popular" song. I haven't looked at the lyrics to much of his songs yet, but I like the style. Also, Beefheart on Letterman. Another good interview. Last edited by Kamikazi Kat; 03-03-2009 at 12:07 AM. |

As for the anthology, Beefheart's got a great style. A lot of the songs on Ice Cream For Crow are probably the best examples of his writing at its best, so you could always looks at the lyrics for that album for ideas. EDIT - Just upping links for the both of you now. PMs soonish. Last edited by Bulldog; 03-05-2009 at 05:44 AM. |

And in .mp3 format, thats nice. The ones I had so far were in .flac format, which is frusterating because I can't burn cds for them and listen to them with my cd player on a long car ride. I can't seem to find any good free converters, and when I finally found one that was supposed to be able to convert .flac files to .mp3 and it had a free, full 30 day free trial, it gave me an error message when I tried converting Trout Mask. Sigh... |

I'm very late getting into Beefheart. I have no excuse considering the music i listen to these days. Picked up Safe As Milk, Trout Mask Replica and Lick My Decals Off, Baby recently and i love the first and last already - whilst with a few more listens im sure i'll fall in love with Trout Mask. Good stuff.

Captain Beefheart is very amazing. I have Trout Mask Replica, Lick My Decals Off, Baby, Doc at the Radar Station, and Safe as Milk. I love all of them, what should I go for next?
