Yeah, that's it. You can order it online directly from the zappa.com store. Otherwise, good luck trying to find it, because as far as I'm aware that's the only place to get it. Could be wrong, though.

A record store owner showed me his copy. It's fairly nice, with a booklet and everything. I have a rip of it, and it's really worth hearing. His voice changed quite a bit just between recording Bat Chain and Shiny Beast and it's interesting to compare how the songs are produced.

Also, I'm disappointed by the lack of a vinyl release, but I'm probably in the minority. Probably isnt enough demand for it to make it worth it for them.

I'm considering getting the Grow Fins set soon. It is pretty pricey but I assume it's worth it and hey, I love the Beef more than I love myself a lot of the times so I'd like to own it. Sounds like a good investment. The vinyl version comes as three (sold separately) double-LP volumes, but if I buy them I'll just get them all at once.

It's pretty good for people who want to listen to the instrumentals for TMR since they're unaccompanied. There are several great live pieces on the album (Tubeworks is the best one on there by far), but for me the radio interview where the Captain sings over the phone of a radio DJ who called him on the fly.

I've recently found some great concert footage of the Captain from the seventies. I could really imagine going to a concert and expecting Frank Zappa and then getting this, it would probably be too much for your average listener.

That was pretty great. The toe part was very strange, though. I also watched the Letterman interviews that were shown on the sidebar. Good stuff as well. I should spend more time looking into his live videos and interviews, because they are quite entertaining.

I put off on Grow Fins. I want to complete my vinyl core discography before I deal with that monster. And so I ordered a copy of Strictly Personal. A real shame they never reissued that sucker (besides a late 90s reissue that apparently sounded really bad and is hard to find anyway) and it's always been an awkward hole in my collection. Will have it soon enough. Then I'll just have to get Ice Cream For Crow, Unconditionally Guaranteed, and Blue Jeans and Moonbeams...all except the last I'm looking forward to owning.

You don't have Ice Cream For Crow!!!?!?!!?!?!? It's one of the Captain's greatest albums, I'd say that its his second best album behind TMR. If anything, just listen to Cardboard Cutout Sundown, it's one of my all time favourite songs:

I've heard it once early on but I don't really remember it. After becoming a Beefheart fan I wanted to save something so I'd have it to look forward to later after I knew most of his other material. Make sense? But don't worry; it's next on my list, and I intend to purchase it soon after I get a bit more cash.

Probably true. I'll put off on for now, but I'll probably end up buying it sooner or later after I have everything else. I just don't want to miss a good price on it is all.

You're gonna want to fill up your catalog with the missing studio albums before you get grow fins.
