Sunny Day Real Estate " Diary" (1994) (Post-emo)
Started the whole post-emo movement, swim can back me on this needing to be on here. I'll think about more albums, i'll probably type up a reason for either/or in a bit also. I would like to do XO but I doubt it was as influential. |

Yea it's pretty essential. Catch 22-Keasby Nights[1998] Though I personally like Dinosaur Sounds more. Fugazi-13 Songs [1989] what post hardcore is really about. I can't remember if this one the list but if it isn't it definitely needs to be Husker Du-Zen Arcade [1984]

I back all swims also.
Elliott Smith "Either/Or" (1997) (Singer/Songwriter) Influential on alot of indie/singer/songwriters after, you can tell by the amount of songs dedicated to him after his death, Ben Folds, Beck, Rilo Kiley, Lou Barlow etc and the album itself is brilliant. All the instruments were played by Elliott I think. |

I like self titled more but this thread isn't a really a what you like better thread it's more of a what would most people like thread.
I think Metallica-And Justice for All should be switched to either Ride the Lightning or Master Puppets. They're way better.

I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

At first I was about to explode because of the millennium comment before I realized you mean 2000 and beyond. It's pretty damn good. De Stijl is much better than Elephant. And I like Get Behind Me Satan better than Elephant - but I will call that personal preference. |
