AC/DC-If You Want Blood
As far as I can see, that's a compilation of live recordings, it isn't even a single set. Is is that "essential"?
The AC/DC is also a comp of live recordings...I'm a bit iffy on that...

Oh, Inverted world was actually published edit: sorry, 1 year prior to YHF. Should I include an album voted 493 of all time by The Rolling Stone magazine? What about the 492 that are supposedly better?

Double Live Gonzo is THE live album at it's finest, you can't help wishing you were there. For the $15.00 those people paid to be there they got their f*cking faces rocked the f*ck off.

As for AC/DC, Flick Of The Switch would be another essential. Dirty.............DIRTY................ROCK AND ROLL

The Heartless Bastards - Stairs & Escalators (2005, Fat Possum)
Great great debut record by this band from Ohio that slipped under the radar. Future classic status is guaranteed.

Alexander Spence - Oar
The only album by this largely forgotten folkie. Played every instrument on the album himself. Influenced lo-fi folk music bands like Smog and Sebadoh.

OK here`s a few

13th Floor Elevators - The Psychadelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators (1966)
The birth of psychadelia

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions (1973)
Stevie brings electronica & politics to soul and records his best album in the process.

Tricky - Maxinquaye (1995)
The best album ever recorded by a British black solo artist

MC5 - Kick Out The Jams (1968)
The sound of a revolution on an album

The Stone Roses - S/T (1989)
Without this you can kiss goodbye to most things that came out of the UK in the 1990s

Primal Scream - Screamadelica (1992)
Acid house becomes a legitimate musical movement

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing (1996)
First album ever to be made from 100% samples

Brian Eno - Another Green World (1975)
Way ahead of it`s time predating most ambient music by about 20 years

David Bowie - Low (1977)
Just a mindblowing album thats still being ripped off to this day.
