Yes, it is a live album, but this is no ordinary live album...it is THE live album of all time. An historical moment in music history and a classic in every sense of the word. To omit this album would be a crime, an injustice...a fucking disgrace. *loads gun*

Nobody has said anything about Kick Out The Jams being a live album yet.

I havn't listened to it yet so I could be off. But wasn't it just recorded in live format? I think adidasss is more talking about concert releases, which aren't really like, well they are albums but not in the put together to be on the same release sense. I can't explain it, its late....Like how if you took songs from Rocket To Russia and put them on End Of The Century or vice versa it would sound really weird, thats what I mean if that makes any sense. A lot of live albums aren't compiled that way they're set-lists of songs from different albums.

Yeah, what Ethan said, isn't it just an album that was recorded live?

Yeah it was , I was under the impression Live At The Apollo was the same sort of thing , but I don`t really know enough about James Browns early work to be sure.

OK...here's my argument for the inclusion of Live At The Apollo.
Quite simply put, James Brown is first and foremost a live act (not any more obviously...he's dead) and a studio album, as good as they are would never do the man full justice. My argument is that a James Brown live album is the correct format in this instance. Couple it with the fact that it arguably ranks as the best ever live album of all time and who is a souless Croatian with no musical taste whatsoever, to argue otherwise. Add it to the list, as no serious list containing the words "classic albums" would be complete without 'Live At The Apollo'. |

I think Live at the Apollo is definitely an exception.
