I can't think of many articles Ive read about her where the journalist seems to get what shes doing and what shes about. Theyre usually too busy trying to portray her as some kind of female Nick Drake when really what they should be doing is paying attention to what shes saying.

See I think that Pavement's lo-fi sound in combination with their poor production sound is what really made them stand out in the beginning as a new unique sound. That low quality sound is the characteristic that a lot of the bands were influenced by them emulated. So losing that sound is like losing part of their idiosyncrasy. I agree that the lyrics are still very similar, I just think between the two sounds Slanted and Enchanted had the more unique and influential sound.
It did have a good chunk of that Nick Drakeness air in it, especially in the large font quotations on each page. But I guess you have to figure they have to get people to read it somehow, and for those who don't know her they need to shout, depression and alcoholism, to get the readers attention. I agree it's not the most amazing article ever, but they could of misrepresented her much more than they did, she is on the cover of the magazine and has an 8 page spread, which is pretty impressive. I mean if you like her, I still would read it.

This is why I don't like music journalists in general. They dont listen or pay attention to the three dimensional truth, they just find an angle and go at it like a bull at a gate.

Since I am not allowed to do school work I have a lot of time on my hands, so i'll scan (or at least attempt) it on to my computer, and send you the link to it.
I'm first going to the store before it closes to get hair dye, then i'll tackle the scanner. So don't expect it for a couple of hours.

The Chemical Brothers, Dig Your Own Hole might have that title being the best album at the peak of big beat.

Newsom is a SUCESS! I mean consider how hard it is to get a record deal, and then to be widely critically acclaimed and have your album considered one of the best of the year out of the thousands that were released. Still though, kudos on the coloring contest . I could never stay inside the lines myself.

I'm having issues getting it to scan in a non-blurry fashion. My scanner is extremely old and extremely shoddy, so until my brother comes home with his not-so-shoddy scanner I can't get the article to you.
