how is that being smart, or clever? stating facts isn't either being smart nor clever. To hate all classic rock is ignorant, like ethan does. I don't hate indie, i hate the use of the name. The Decemberists annoy me big deal. There are plenty of bands of the same vein that do not.

I don't hate all classic rock, and what are those bands of the same vein?

Also using the term classic rock then saying you hate the use of the word indie is pretty dumb.

classic rock = rock

indie = pop, rock, electronica, folk, etc

bright eyes is good, though doesnt sound the same, though you'd group it under folk.

Classic Rock = rock from 60s-80s? Whatever, I wouldn't consider Zeppelin, Beatles and Pink Floyd all the same genre.

Indie = independent record label.

Bright Eyes has quite a few folk songs, but I wouldn't put him under folk. Digital Ash, I Will Be Grateful For This Day, cmon.

The Decemberists are not indie.
