I would have to agree only because there is really no think outside the box reason to this..the beatles, led zeppelin is great..etc..but it all seems cliche..

If its the British Rolling Stone made by Indie Kids, then its the British Spin.
Well I don't think we should ignore what NME says because if we were to review a competent list, even if we disagreed there wouldn't be 8 pages of replies. In defence of Nirvana, most people regard In Utero as better. Not me per say, but people, and a few publications. I think Nevermind deserves a spot on the list. Heres my arguments as to why. 1. Yeah same old chords, thats fine, fancy guitar work isn't always needed, but Kurt should be remembered more for the vocal melodies than his guitar work. His songs were something that brought passion back, and that passion can be felt in a song in my opinion. Who knows, perhaps its diffrent for the Brits. 2. Sure their is a lot of waste we can thank Cobain for, but that doens't mean actual good bands won't be inspiried years down the road. They say the heir to the throne of Led Zeppelin was Janes Addiction and how many years later did they arrive? How many **** bands did they create. I'm not making the comparison, just making a point. Don't count Nirvana out yet, I think theres a 14 year old in his basement somewhere making great music because of Nevermind but just because he's not dropping discs now doesn't mean he won't. 3. I happen to think Ghrol's drum work is something thats impressive. Let it be the musicality of the record then. 4. I thin perhaps there was a race to see who could bash them the most, or maybe a distancing of one's self from oojay (which is understandable) but lets be fair, it may not be one of the Top 10, but its not so out of line to think someone would put it on there.

Again it well illustrates how different Urbans musicial view is from mine, I've tried getting into some of the bands Urban likes, and Super Furry Animals, Primal Scream and Aphex Twin aside I don't like any of it... I recall listening to Pulp, and then trying to get someone to euthanize me afterwards. Last edited by boo boo; 01-12-2007 at 01:53 PM. |

I like the first 3 Queen albums , I even called Live Killers one of the best live albums i`ve ever heard.
I just really really hate Bohemian Rhapsody. You should hear Gruff Rhys`s new solo album Candylion. Reminds me exactly why I loved SFA in the first place.
