I love magazines like this, they do this every year, how do they come up with a new greatest album of all time each year?

And haha to Oasis beating David Bowies album, even Radiohead beats Oasis.

I don't see why Definitely maybe couldn't be at number one, if we're going by personal taste that is. It's only because there's a widespred prejudice of anything produced after 1990 topping any all time chart. Why, because no great music has been made ever since? Does an album really have to be at least 30 years old to be deemed the best of all time? Is it because all the leading music journalists are geezers that never got over The beatles breaking up?

That being said, I would put Nirvana's Nevermind on number one, breakthough factor included, and overall influence on music and pop culture, which Definitely maybe, with respect to brit pop, didn't acomplish.

Oh and do I see 4 albums by The beatles in the top 20? *yawn*

Well it would help to include them in the overall picture, when it comes down to a best of all time chart.
I'd say the average 18 year old with a modicum of taste, would be able to pick at least 20 albums before even considering 'Definately Maybe'.
Really these charts shouldn't include the term, "all time", in them.
To do so, only makes it laughable and hard to take seriously, judging by some of the albums included in that list.

They put "OK Computer" ahead of "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Nevermind". I can take nothing they say seriously.

I would put OK Computer ahead of those two as well. However, I would not put it ahead of various other PF albums like Meddle and Wish You Were Here.


I prefer Low to the David Bowie album they listed.

I would say the 'best' Led Zeppelin album could go any way to be honest, so I don't dispute IV being up there. Practically all their albums are elite.

I do like the Strokes, but they shouldn't be up there.

I find it laughable that Definitely Maybe is rated that high (but yeah I know... opinions lollercopter).

As for me, after listening to an amazingly large amount of music (I'm heading on 500 GB in music/concerts), my favourite album ever is still Blood Sugar Sex Magik (RHCP).

OK Computer was OK (pardon the pun), but to say thats its better than DSOTM or Nevermind is laughable.

Worthy of it`s placing

Should be about 100 places lower

Genius , but most people outside the UK hate it or don`t appreciate the impact it had.

Not even Pink Floyds best album

Although I don`t like them I don`t think they ever did an album that can be considered one of the best , they were a better singles band
