Are you sure you weren't meaning to post this in the Crimes Against Music thread? |

Not to seem overly traditional on my first post, but I think the Rat Pack does Christmas the best. Not my type of music any other time, but during Christmas... it hits the spot, especially Dean Martin's "Baby It's Cold Outside".
Going away from the traditional, Tull has some great Christmas numbers such as "Solstice Bells" from "Songs from the Wood," and "A Christmas Song" from their debut ("This Was") FT |

Cheerful as anything, catchy as hell, and very very very funny. |
Not-Your-Granddad's Christmas Songs
Happy December 24-25, 2010. Which Christmas-related tunes do you enjoy that some people would be like :yikes: and you'd be all like :finger:?
Whatever gets us through the holidays? ^These just made me smile a big smile, that's all. ^ Spoiler for Lyrics to Santa Claus is Selling Crack:

That last one is pretty good...
I dislike everything about this band but this thread made me think of this song... |
Isn't there already a thread for this?
|
I thought there was one too, but couldn't find it.
|
I don't know, but I am going to say that the last song made me sad...

"Baby, It's Cold Outside," because even though when you think about the lyrics and realize that the song kinda advocates date rape, it's still an essential christmas song

"**** Christmas" by Tankard.
"**** Christmas! All the time! I've got my Yule tide pride! **** Christmas! All the time! I've got Jesus on my side! He was ****ing born in August anyway." |
My Best Christmas Songs of all time are Following:
1.Here Comes Santa Clause (Right Down Santa Claus Lane) by Elvis Presley 2.You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch by Thurl Ravenscroft 3.All I Want For Christmas is You by Mariah Carey |
Maybe it's just a tad early for me to post something here, but what the hell. Seeing as I can barely get through a day without listening to at least one Pogues song, it might surprise you to find out that Fairytale Of New York isn't my favourite Christmas song. For me it's a two-way tie between these little nuggets;
^ Reuben are one of those bands who have a handful of really good tunes, but aren't anywhere near good enough to put out a decent full-length album. As for this one, it's hardcore meets Christmas - what's not to like :p: ^ And as for this, I love the fact that it's way more miserable than just about any other Christmas song I can think of at the moment. Gotta love that melody in the chorus too. |
stupid christmas..... |

Now now, what's wrong with Come All Ye Faithful, Good King Wenceslas and more recently, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas?
On a side note: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town is fucking creepy. |
I end up playing this for my wife every Christmas.
|
Dean Martin is the man. We play this non-stop around Christmas
Or, if you want a more traditional rock band, the prize goes to Tull's "Ring out Solstice Bells." |
This isn't a Christmas song but this was recorded for the Christmas Top Of The Pops in 1972 and I think it's been shown on TV every Christmas since so in my eyes this song reminds me of Christmas just as much as Christmas songs do...

So I hate We 3 Kings, so I'll never buy this track, but I love what they did with "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" |
So good! |
