I knew this song wouldn't go down extremely well or extremely badly (which in hindsight makes me wonder why I picked it) but Porcupine Tree have a lot of songs where the first 2 minutes kick arse or are what you'd like to remember the song for, and then the last half usually drags a tad. There is another track called Strip the Soul, which has a killer intro of bass and then the drums come in, and then the vocals, not too dissimilar to the Melvins 'Night Goat' in terms of style, but the remaining 5 or so minutes is a bit on the drawn-out side.

Porcupine Tree are a really decent outfit however and a lot of their songs have that eerie feel to them, whether they are heavy and crushing or soft, cold and damp; but being a prog band I find they do tend to let it roll for a little too long on some pieces. Collapse The Light Into Earth is off the In Absentia album, they string together some tighter songs on the later album Deadwing, but they have a fairly different sound altogether on that one too.

Glad you liked Skeeter
That was a little extra I chucked in on the side, because I love the music and the story is a crazy out-of-nowhere sort of thing. It was originally written by Dave Grohl for his solo album Late! Pocketwatch, but Buzzo covered it as Grohl was drumming for the production of King Buzzo's EP. And when I say covered I mean he must have put his own twist on it in the editing studio (or whatever), because apparently he never actually played a part in the performance of that song.

The extra songs should be a day away, I've gotta download a few more before I can up them as a comp

Still going through the music...I'll opinionate later.

We could all contribute to a genre compilation in the future.
Everybody should have heard of at least one track from a particular genre...could prove interesting.

Love the person who upped Billie Holiday...nice.

'What's Left Of The Flag' - Flogging Molly, would go down a bomb in a local Irish pub round our way. Ran by a lad called O'Mara (who I don't like) to be played at last orders, then swiftly retreat to a safe distance...to view the destruction.

Beyond this life is often named their best song, but to really get it you have to listen to the entire album, as the entire thing is pretty much one song split into parts.

If you're gonna say that, you have to say what it was...
