Jimi Hendrix - Spanish Castle Magic, I don't like jimi hendrix all that much, the same goes for this song...

Motograter - Suffocate, I'm usually not into metal, but I really like this song! Really strong. And I like the rapping!

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Sex-Bomb-Boogie, ha, funny. :') It makes me want to dance the time warp...

Pain of Salvation - Itet Impius, beautifull, the singers' voice sweeps you into the emotion of the song, which gradually builds up. Lovely!

At The Drive-In - Arcarsenal, At the Drive-in , but this songs is not my favorite from at the drive-in, I like the stuff from Acrobatic Tenement better!

80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster - Giant Bones, not my taste, it's not catchy, yet it keeps repeating itself. I don't like the singers voice either.

Suede - Animal Nitrate, it was ok, nothing special.

Gill Scot-Heron - The Bottle, this is more like it! Relaxed music, it reminds me of the Talking Heads a little. The flute is weaved in, in a cute way.

Dream Theater - Scene Four: Beyond This Life, how can one not love this? Except for the solo, it shows some talent, but still, it's a same old same old slightly altered riff. And the song is too long, that slightly ruins it too.

Big Boys - Heart Beat, cute, catchy, but the instruments/singer aren't enthusiastic enough about themselves, I hear no passion...

That's it for now. I'll continue later.

I actually enjoyed the Dream Theater song apart from the a few bits around 4-5 minutes to go, where I thought it was some classic technical filler that didn't fit into the piece properly. But apart from that I enjoyed a fair chunk of it. The dude on vocals wasn't half as annoying as he is in other songs. Nice pick on the whole.

I have enjoyed all the songs apart from Motograter, it wasn't quite my thing in terms of vocals. Neither was Between the Buried and Me but the song chopped up the tempos in so many different ways it was actually a pretty awesome song in the end.

Good Morning Captain was amazing, probably my favourite of the lot.

Billie Holiday was a huge suprise, but still really enjoyable.

Some people uploaded more than 1, which is cool because I'll still chuck them in later on as and extra compilation.

I know this makes me a freak, but it really bothers me that some of you can't properly tag your music.

Quick note on the ratings: 5 means I would go out and buy it, I love it, 4 means it's pretty good, I might download it, 3 means that I didn't like it or dislike it, pretty neutral but probably won't listen to it again, 2 means pretty bad, and if it got a 1 it either means I really dislike it or it's Van Halen so it gets a 1 on principle. If it has a little star next to it it means I've heard it before.

5 stars

*Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit
*Melvins - A History of Bad Men
King Buzzo - Skeeter
*Jimi Hendrix - Spanish Castle Magic
Big Boys - Heartbeat (probably my favorite song that I haven't heard before on this comp)
Gil Scott-Heron - The Bottle
*Air - La Femme d'Argent
80s Matchbox B-Line Disaster - Giant Bones

4 stars

Babes In Toyland - Won't Tell
Streetlight Manifesto - A Better Place, A Better Time (honestly though, who makes a six minute ska song?)
Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Sex-Bomb-Boogie
*Flogging Molly - What's Left of the Flag
Suede - Animal Nitrate
Faith No More - Hippie Jam Song

3 Stars

Porcupine Tree - Collapse the Light Into Earth
Dream Theater - Scene Four: Beyond This Life
Of Montreal - Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games
At The Drive-In - Arcarsenal
Amusement Parks On Fire - Out of the Angels
Horizontal Orange - Lessthanthree (what a terrible title)
*Rise Against - Halfway There (imo, not one of the better rise against songs, and I don't really like them that much anymore)
Billie Holiday - Come Rain or Come Shine (I really couldn't decide how I felt about this song)

2 Stars

Pain of Salvation - Iter Impius
Black Label Society - Sold My SOul
Okkervil River - For Real
Motograter - Suffocate

1 Star

Van Halen - Jump
Between the Buried & Me - More of Myself to Kill

Remember, don't have a hissy fit, this is all personal opinion.

I`ve listened to the first comp , here`s my opinions. Don`t expect any mercy.....

80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster - Giant Bones
I like this band , this isn`t the song I would have chosen and it`s not really a favourite of mine , but it`s alright

Big Boys - Heartbeat
Sounded to me like one of those 70s pop rock bands with a bit of early 80s power pop thrown in.I like this a lot I want to hear more.

Gil Scott-Heron - The Bottle
Bet I know who`s choice this was , I like this a lot , again I wouldn`t mind hearing some more. I heard one of his albums a couple of years ago & it didn`t really grab me. Maybe a re-evaluation is in order.

Motograter - Suffocate
Just sounds like every metal cliche going , bands like this are why I hardly listen to metal anymore. I bet they all have beards & tattoos.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - Sex Bomb Boogie
I don`t think i`ve heard this song for about 18 or so years. I still knew all the words though

At The Drive In - Arcarsenal
I`ve always thought this was one of the weaker songs on the album , I like the band i`m just not that keen on this song.

Dream Theater - Beyond This Life
I gave it a chance , really I did but after I found myself skipping bits after about 50 seconds , the extended guitar solo made me want to vomit , so did the extended keyboard solo , the vocalist and the painfully cliched lyrics made me wish I was vomiting over him. Everything I hate about music summed up in an overlong 11 minute wankfest.

Jimi Hendrix - Spanish Castle Magic
Ahhhhhh Jimi , after enduring Dream Theater this was such sweet relief. This is one of my favourite Hendrix tunes anyway so it gets high marks from me.I`m just glad it was this version and not Yngwie Malmsteens abomination that was included. Having to listen to both that and Dream Theater would have probably given me a brain aneurysm.

Pain Of Salvation - Iter Impius

Reason to hate the 80s Number 12,756,765

80s power ballads like this one

What do you mean it`s not that old?
F*ck , I hope this revival dies out pretty sharpish

Suede - Animal Nitrate
Amazing , Brilliant , Fantastic song , whoever uploaded this is a genius.

what?
