Yeah that'll be really unpopular, owch...
Nickelback is a good band, and I really enjoy their music. Chad's voice is cool. The Corrs are a cool band

Their newest album topped the charts. Why should it be so hard to believe someone might like Nickelback? Somebody obviously does, since they're selling so many records.

EDIT: Oh, are you talking about the Elliott Nick thing? If so... Calling him emo is pretty stupid, seeing as Smith is about as emo as Drake, which isn't emo at all. You've displayed your musical ignorance in that post, emo is a branch off of the 80s hardcore movement. Has nothing to do with myspace or cutting yourself, emo is Circle Takes The Square, Educate yourself, theres an education thread in the emo forum. Elliotts music being shitty? He was a fantastic vocalist and songwriter, and one of the best acoustic guitar players i've ever heard (see: Memory Lane, Angeles). He arranged stuff beautifully and was a phenomenal producer, just listen to Figure 8 to see that even if the album does have some weak points his talent is still very apparent. Congrats, you don't know much about music. |

I never got the Elliot Smith hate.
I do think he's overrated by indies and emos alike, but I do like him. Nick Drake, now thats someone I just don't get at all. I heard Pink Moon, and I thought it was lame. |

And I like Pink Moon is a really good chill album, I havn't checked out his other stuff. Nick Drake took me a few listens to get into because I didn't like his voice at first. After going through a Belle And Sebastian phase I listene to Pink Moon and it kind of clicked. Since were talking about folk artists who are overrated, Iron And Wine. I like him and all, well a couple songs but most of his stuff is just way too the same. I tried chilling to an album once and it got really repetitive after the first few songs. And Sufjan Stevens, John Wayne Gacy Jr. is an okay song, but I can get into him at all and i've tried quite a few times. I don't get why people freak out over him, hes really dull. |

My problem with Pink Moon is that it sounds like the guy made it lying on his bed, half asleep... And his singing is actually yawning.
And I don't like Sufjan Stevens either, he even said he dosen't own any of the instruments he plays on record, and it really shows, sad to say. Last edited by boo boo; 03-29-2007 at 03:41 AM. |
