Pete Seeger is a better musician and song-writter than Paul Simon.

You want to get into a bitch fight or something? Nick Drake IS a better guitar player, his finger picking strumming combination is brilliant and not even remotely clumsy, quite the opposite actually. Pink Moon is better than any guitar work i've heard by Paul Simon. Paul Simon is a fairly average acoustic guitar player, there are plenty of people aside from Drake that destroy him. John Fahey for instance.
Bob Dylan is widely considered the best songwriter ever, overrated? Yes, but in alot of cases someone being overrated means theres a certain truth to what they're overrated for. Do I hate Jimmy Page? Yes, I can't stand Zeppelin. Do I honestly think hes a bad guitar player? Not at all. Same goes for Bob Dylan, though I like him alot. Once I see Paul Simon write a Visions of Johanna or Idiot Wind i'll place him on the same level as Dylan, but until then he can just stay a decent lyricist and thats it. |

What the **** is with you making comebacks against non-existent arguements? And I don't really care if Dylan is widely considered the best songwriter.

It's a still life water color,
Of a now late afternoon, As the sun shines through the curtained lace And shadows wash the room. And we sit and drink our coffee Couched in our indifference, Like shells upon the shore You can hear the ocean roar In the dangling conversation And the superficial sighs, The borders of our lives. And you read your Emily ****inson, And I my Robert Frost, And we note our place with bookmarkers That measure what we've lost. Like a poem poorly written We are verses out of rhythm, Couplets out of rhyme, In syncopated time And the dangled conversation And the superficial sighs, Are the borders of our lives. Yes, we speak of things that matter, With words that must be said, "Can analysis be worthwhile?" "Is the theater really dead?" And how the room is softly faded And I only kiss your shadow, I cannot feel your hand, You're a stranger now unto me Lost in the dangling conversation. And the superficial sighs, In the borders of our lives. |
