Seems like 2+2=5 is a fan favorite, same with Wolf At The Door.

Stairway to Heaven is not the best Led Zeppelin song (You guys probably won't think this is unpopular but there's a lot of people that would chastise someone who said this).

Its a great, great song...but not their best.

I know you're not talking to me, but I'd say their best song is Rock and Roll.

Stairway is an overrated song, its a great song but not Zeps best.

My favorite Zep songs are Ten Years Gone, The Lemon Song, Song Remains the Same, Over the Hills & Far Away, Achilles Last Stand and Dazed & Confused.

I think that's something that is quite impossible to measure. For some prog aficionados, "good composition" may involve the clever structural juxtaposition of the various sections of a multi-part suite. For others, "good composition" might simply involve well thought-out arrangements and clever interplay between simultaneous lines. What about songs that consist of completely free jams and have no real structure at all (which is a whole style in itself)? Is that bad composition? The number of ways in which such a facet could be measured are innumerable.

Suffice to say, from a talent standpoint I think it's unfair to compare any two types of music that don't even have the same aims to begin with. Prog is way better when it comes to the long multi-part suite, and so it should be, as that's not even the aim of most indie music genres. Conversely, indie pop is way better than prog when it comes to 3 minute ditties...which, it goes without saying, is certainly not the aim of prog.

In fact I think a lot of Indie is derivative. I can recall the many times when someone recommends a band to me only to be some crappy post punk band with pathetic Ian Curtis or David Byrne ripoff vocals.
You're so 2006 Boo Boo

It's all Justice rip offs & folk/psych now
