Indeed, having a daughter in the first place was probably a bad move. I think criticizing someone for killing themselves is pretty much the most absurd thing you can do, because you're talking from a perspective that a suicidal person has entirely rejected. It really just shows a lack of understanding, imo.

Yeah, I'd go farther and say even if you have been suicidal (as someone suggested on the last page) you still can't judge someone for it because something still held you back.

saying that nirvana and pink suck equally doesn't seem to be too popular of an opinion.

i'd better retract the statement, and change my perception of musical talent in order to be liked.

Thinking Nirvana sucks is a VERY popular opinion, everywhere.

Any town centre on a weekend you'd be guaranteed to see gaggles of young teenagers in the same Nirvana 'smiley face' logo hoodies. To be a 'grunger' was old hat and boring...
And then you grow up!

So yeah I agree with Boo Boo, anyone born in the 80's or later grew up with the band's music having a constant presence in their peer group (just ask anyone on this forum) and you can have too much of a good thing, people 'grow out' of it.

But I 'rediscovered' them a while ago in a broader context and the wealthy Cobain estate indicates their record sales haven't been hurt any.

I still don't agree that thinking they suck is a particularly popular opinion. I'm not a fan of them myself, but they sure make a lot of "best of" lists and sell a lot of albums for a band that, according to boo boo, is so widely reviled.

I think the vocals are the best part of The Mars Volta.

I was really enjoying Amputechture the other day until the intro to 'Meccamputechture' kicked in. It was bearable on the first album but Cedric is really testing me these days
