DITL has a poppy melody, but its stucture was very out there at the time.

Haven't you heard their industrial folk tinged crustcore cybergrind power violence album? They completely sold out after that.

Alright I had a think about this, and came up with... Love You To, Within You Without You, Wild Honey Pie, and maybe The Inner Light.

As for Oomph, after his abortion of a reply to my post I am now convinced that he has to be trolling and isn't interested in debating any serious points about inherent value, worth and relativism. I cannot believe he could have misunderstood what I was writing to such a degree as he supposedly did. So yeah, a total waste of time and space.

Are you joking with this ****? You don't think guitar distortion and bass can be measured?l
100% correct, these are all measurable facets of sound. However, good isn't measurable. You're right when you say your opinions are based on objective fact, but you're wrong in the statement that your opinion is objective fact. See the difference? Your preference comes from measurable sound qualities and objectively observable structural preferences, but "good" is an abstract and in this case means "pleasing" which will differ from person to person. Your opinion isn't 100% correct all of the time for everyone, and therefore isn't objective fact.

If we use distortion and bass to measure how good music is than Oomph! must really love Komprex.

Of course though, naturally, nobody was questioning whether degrees of bass or guitar distortion could be measured in the first place. The point I was getting at is that quantities of such things do not make one piece of music any objectively better than another. Neither does having a lot of layering of sound, instrumental complexity and so forth: a lot of great music has been entirely a cappella. Neither does having intricate arrangements and structures: some of the most intelligent and sophisticated music has consisted merely of long, free-form jams.

One can talk in terms of how "complex" something is, how "sentimental" it is, how "effusive" and "maudlin" it is, whatever... but terms like "good" and "better" don't mean anything whatsoever when there's no common agreed upon criteria; as such, they are impossible to measure in the absence of that. They do not MEAN anything.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't fit to shine my shoes or even listen to my shitty records. I'm not sure if this opinion has been stated for enough for it to be popular/unpopular but I'm saying it now.

But their CD's do make excellent drink coasters. Let's give credit where credit is due.
