(I didn't even read the purpose of this thread but I've been dying to get that off my chest for a while now, and I finally got my opening)
i suddenly remembered he had a kid yesterday aswell (what's her name, frances bean?), i agree to some extent but i wouldn't call it egotism, Cobain was introverted and a clinically depressed junkie. Still, he could've been worse:

I don't mind Contraband either. Yes, it is unoriginal and derivative, and no, it's not Appetite for Destruction. But it is a solid hard rock album and I can appreciate it for that - there are some good tunes on it.

Well...going by what I read on here...I think Pearl Jam is a decent rock band. I don't think they are anything special, but I enjoy them every now and then.

The Killers aren't too bad as far as pop bands go. Yeah, some of their lyrics are extremely cheesy. I still listen to them on occasion. Try getting "Spaceman" out of your head when you hear it.

I don't know if it's unpopular but I think The Great Rock N Roll Swindle is much better than Nevermind The Bollocks (with the exception of the the track Bodies).

Everyone on 'teh internetz' appears to believe that In Utero is better than Nevermind. They are wrong.

I also think that hiphop with really violent, nihilistic lyrics is great alot of the time.
