This is coming from a guy who listens to 3-5 hour portions of a 24 hour song reguarly. The message is fine, but I just can't find my self coming back to it often. Once in a while sure, but not every time I listen to Pink Floyd.
It's all good man. The message that the album brings is one of the big reasons I enjoy it so much. Though I can understand that the songs can drag on, as I don't normally listen to it as a whole as much as I listen to a few select tracks from the album itself.

I'm actually only familiar with the albums Crime Of The Century and Even In The Quietest Moment. I did read in wiki that their albums were generally more successful than their singles. Kind of shocked by that knowing they had around 10 major hits.
Roger Hodges left the band in 1983 which left Rick Davies in charge.

Supertramp is a band that definitely deserves further investigation on my behalf.

I've always been so captivated by the song Fool's Overture I never really had to look further into their discography for proof they were talented.

Supertramp and 10CC are equally good and it is worth checking out their albums because they tended to make themed records, almost like 70's Prog-Pop. Not a huge genre, but a good one. Most of the albums by both of these bands hold up extremely well.

my opinion would be if ya think a band or guitarist sucks, see if you can do better. then realize how hard most bands work at there music. ill pretty much listen to anything if i find it appealing to myself :P

If you work hard and make a ****ty album, it's still a ****ty album whether I can play it or not.

That's good you pointing to the fact that Supertramp had a progressive pop style. I was never really crazy about their style of pop music, they were on the radio all the time. I keep them in my collection along side Cheap Trick and Styx.

Electric Light Orchestra didn't have a whole lot of great music to choose from, but they did have two or three singles that were quite innovative.

DEVO is vastly underrated.

Exactly. It doesn't necessarily mean the person or persons who made the album can't play, it just means the album wasn't up to par to the skill they possess.
