I totally agree actually.

Solos almost always bore the life outta me. Except Tony Molina's... his solos are epic.

Fvck the Malmsteens and the fvcking Vais dude, it's impressive but barely entertaining.

lol my nephew is like that.
he learned to play guitar just to be a show off and pull off mind blowing solos that sound epic in his head but in reality they're a f*ckin mess cause he still doesn't know how to play that well.

Hey now.

There are some songs that wouldn't be the same without the solo. It really depends on the vibe of the tune. Wankery is one thing, but a good solo can be the icing on the cake.

True.. sometimes a solo can be the best part of the song or like you said just make the song better.

im not opposed to playing a solo if it fits in the song im opposed to stunt guitarist that want a solo in every song just to show off.
