Maybe we should just drop the subject. It's unimportant in the extreme and is creating the most pointless drama in the history of the site.

There comes a point when members of a community forum and their attitudes need to be put in check, be it by means of banning for a few days, or weeks. Being a moderator on other forums. I've found that members that think they do not need to consider what they say because they can supposedly say whatever they want, as it would be their opinion...it is harder for them to realize or learn that they can't just say whatever and expect no consequence. Their opinion and ideal freedom to say whatever they want, it does not mean they can actually do so. Why is this concept so foreign to people?
I will not be shy about making it known that this is directed at Soulflower. Having had discussions with her, however only two times so far. It is evident that she is convinced and cannot be persuaded otherwise, that her opinions are the only facts. I've observed several of her debates with other forum members. Someone disagrees, Soulflower starts throwing so called facts around, accusing others of belittling her or looking down on her, insisting all these things over whoever she is having a disagreement with. This is not someone I care to talk with. Bullheaded, know it all. This statement toward her is a direct consequence of her attitude toward others, other forum members opinions or views on things. It really irks me and for the life of me, I cannot bring myself to just let her rampage all over the forum, derailing conversations in to so called personal attacks on her and the ideals she believes. How could I be wrong about anything I've addressed in this post of her when so many others voice the same things, and she dismisses them claiming they're untrue, while repeatedly doing exactly what people are saying she does. What more proof do I need? I am sorry Soulflower. But if you can't deal with what people may or may not say about the opinions you voice. Keep them to yourself. It's no fun having a debby downer. It is beyond irritating having someone like you throw a fit when someone says you're wrong about something. This concludes my rant. Anything directed at me by Soulflower will be ignored. Couldn't keep this to myself any longer. I want a forum where I can discuss things peacefully and rationally. |

Soulflower for me is just someone that needs to be more mindful of other peoples views, not so readily jump to saying she's the victim of a personal attack. It is annoying man. She wouldn't be so bad if she toned it down. There are a few people exactly like her on another forum I am active on. None of them have the biggest fans or supporters. If I'm a little off about her and what I've said, that's cool and I accept that. But would it really kill her to try a different approach to debating? |

The only thing I want to say is that I don't think the rules cover a person's attitude, or at least, I don't think they should. |

Did I read that here? Not sure. But to some extent I think both of those things or briefly addressed somewhere. ...the rules shouldn't cover someones attitude, I agree...no place should dictate that. But any forum should actively make sure to their best ability, that the community is respectful of others. But my above paragraph sized rant could easily be put in question in terms of my respect for Soulflower, or taking in account her feelings on the matter. But I've said my piece and I stand by it. |
