I'd like there to be a law where for one week of the year it's against the law to play or discuss any music 5 years old or over and doing so is publishable by death.

I actually like this idea.

Death is extreme, but we can at least do it here by saying we will ban you.

While I find your debating style to be annoying and pedantic, and your focus on the mainstream music industry to be kind of myopic, I don't have anything much else negative to say about you. There are actually a bunch of other people on the site who feel the same way, and even a number of them who have nothing but complimentary things to say about you. You're not a hated member on here. You're not Paul Smeenus. Kidding, Paul! I love you and want to abort your children!

.......that death sentence also extends to fans of rock music who use the phrase 'Real Music' when dismissing Pop, Electronic music or music that isn't written by the performer.

This actually reminds me of something that bothered me recently.

I watched the VMAs, which included Beyonce's incredibly self serving and egotistical medley of her entire damn album and I realized...the writing on that album is actually phenomenal. So we've got Beyonce out there shaking her ass and being the "face" of the music while some unknown guy wrote some really great pop music and is ok with her stealing all the glory. I don't understand that. I would want some recognition.

I know I can go look up her writers, but the point is that your average joe will not look it up and will just go ahead and credit Beyonce with all of it.

Look at it from the flipside.
You write songs for a living, who do you want out there singing and promoting them. Some pixie looking indie chick who couldn't sell out a shed or Beyonce.

I actually agree with the way you approached it versus the way blackdragon did because it seemed like he or she was trying to attack me with a petty comeback.

You don't have to be a newcomer to state the opinion that I stated. One of your own long time members said the same thing (in his own words and experiences), so it can be stated by anybody.

You're right it is the person's fault but I think its petty to correct someone on something that is small and meaningless. Its a public message board and people commonly make grammatical mistakes all the time. It is something that is expected. Its petty to throw that is someone's face just to attack them with and especially if you knew what they were referring too.

Btw, I think you should read discussions from the beginning before you decide to comment because I have constantly pointed out that people personally attack people here for their opinion. I am referring to that.

Obviously, I am not referring to a regular music discussion.

To me, I took his approach as a sly petty comeback.

If he wanted to enlighten me about a phrase then he should have done that.

He told me that I actually cared, thats not the same.

I appreciate that you saw where I was coming from. As for the above statement, you mentioned earlier you don't care what people think of your opinion. I was simply pointing out that you must care a bit if you took the time to voice your opinion in the first place.

I'm done with this now, let's please continue with the music discussion.

I guess I never thought about it this way. Good point.
