Though I must admit to liking some of its songs. The title track, for instance.

Yeah, man. That and "Life in the Fast Lane" were pretty good. The rest of it was forgettable in my humble.

I like "Wasted Time" and "The Last Resort" a lot in addition to the title track and "Life in the Fast Lane". The rest of the album isn't too shabby either. I honestly don't understand the bad reputation it seems to have acquired over the years.

I didn't even know it had a bad reputation...I thought everyone loved it! Shows what I know!

I swear it had a good reputation when I was growing up and it was still relatively new. I think the bad rep is a more recent development.

Like if I was in an 80s thrash metal band I'd say "the hell with that f*cking bland-ass, unipsired sh*t" we're having the solo either at the beginning (like the VERY beginning of the song, like it opens with the solo), or at the end with a fade-out or we'll work in something fancy like the song abruptly ends with the solo. Or even more fancy, the solo fades into another song.

Just talking about this actually makes me like solos again, that's how much it would be better for me if they were positioned differently.
Hm, an interesting perspective on the guitar solo...

To be perfectly honest. I too find myself more than over the predictable guitar solo in a song these days. It's pretty much like how you described it. The guitar solo needs to be reconstructed. Bands really need inject that spontaneity back in the guitar solo so you can't predict when you'll hear it, if at all. Even with a lot of the Metal bands I look up to, that I listen to, they are predictable. Come on, hit me with a curve ball!

Diana Ross was not just a beautiful glamour girl and it is insulting how they compare her to the pop girls out now like she was just a pin up girl when she wasn't

Kelis does a better Lady Gaga than Lady Gaga does herself

The industry snubs the legendary black bands and artists because they don't care about them

Brandy deserves WAY MORE props. She comes out with back to back solid R&B albums and is constantly overlooked. Despite it all, she still remains humble and thankful

Prince is underrated as a showman

I can't really argue with anything else you said, but I'm pretty sure everyone recognizes Prince as a great showman.

I think people mostly view him as a musician. His showmanship gets the back seat in my opinion. He is not really acknowledged as an "performer/entertainer". I think he is underrated as a showman.
