Ugh. I had to say that.

2. groove metal/thrash metal/industrial metal/NWOBHM > metalcore > doom metal/death metal (at least death metal has an experimental side to it) > black metal.
Black metal is easily the most experimental genre of metal. Sure there are the unoriginal Darkthrone clones, but on the other end of the spectrum you have Sigh, Emperor, Burzum, Ved Buens Ende, Blut Aus Nord, Mayhem (post-Euronymous Mayhem is experimental as ****), Bathory, Arcturus, etc, etc, et-****ing-cetera. All far more bizarre and experimental than almost the entire genre of death metal.

As good of an album as it is, I just can't agree with Zen Arcade being Husker Du's best work. Flip Your Wig is my personal choice.

Peter is great with bauhaus. His solo career... snooze.

Only a few ToT songs I like but L&R>bauhaus for sure.

I forget if it was pre or post-ToT but Bubblemen had this few fun, quirky tune:

However... The Wall is overrated ****ing garbage, and I'm pretty sure it's a favorite for a lot of people just because there's so many t-shirts and a movie.
The Wall seems to have some unnecessary filler but I love it for the story. It took me a long time to really understand it, and now I sort of laugh because it's like Roger Waters wrote a concept album about his life and thinly disguised it as a Pink Floyd album.

My favorite is "Animals", though. I have to be in the right mood for "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were Here" because they're so emotionally difficult to digest.

You hate NoFX more than rancid lol? Rancid suck badly but although I was being a bit tongue in cheek, NoFX's earlier stuff isn't that bad. Have you checked out punk in drublic? IMHO real good album.

Or maybe you just don't like them lo.
