Well yea but that's not saying much.

tell ya what i found kinda shocking,
the make over of Tim armstrong from Rancid to the transplants, he went from Mr punk to like some kind of Urban gangsta and frickin sold their one hit to a shampoo commercial.

In Utero is better than Nevermind.

Smells Like Teen Spirit is NOT Nirvana's best song.

I feel that autotune actually has a lot of potential to be a great effect. I mean, there are some decent songs, but nothing that really showcases what it can do.

While I do like political Punk (Dead Kennedys are amazing, for example), I feel that politics and songs with a social message are better suited for Hip Hop.

Also, unrelated to my opinions, I tried rating this thread 5 stars, and it says I already rated it. It did the same for the Recreational Drug Thread. I can tell you for a fact that I didn't rate either. WTF?

Same here. Don't know why, but when the Clash are bitching about politics I roll my eyes, but when Dead Prez do, I loves it. And not just because of being a white boy finding it funny listening to a song talking about "runnin' up on them crackers in they city hall".

"Smells Like" is Nirvana's worst song and Nevermind is their worst album.
Swans are overrated (don't get me wrong, I love them)
Catch 22's Keasbey Nights > Streetlight Manifesto's Keasbey Nights

I never thought Metallica was that amazing band everyone else sees. Don't get me wrong the early albums are good; But not the best thrash metal ever.

As for Nevermind, it probably is my least favorite Nirvana album, but I still like it.

Agreed. Although I'd go as far as to say Nirvana just outright sucked.
As did Nick Drake.

But, barring the recreation of the Catch 22 record (which some members of Streetlight were actually in) everything else Streetlight did was far superior to Keasbey Nights. Although I doubt that's unpopular.

Pentatonix

My friend showed me this group yesterday and she said they are an acapella group which is why i liked them, but they have a mainstream appeal to them that i think will turn off alot of hipsters and the fact they mostly cover popular pop hits also adds to that, but i like them. they are a talented acapella group, i think it's amazing to use vocals like that more so in an acapella group where they have to fill each instrument with their voice and organise the composition to run smoothly.

It takes talent and training to pull that off so i respect that.

I won't lie, I love watching the Sing-Off. The Pentatonix were on it a couple seasons ago and won...I gotta say, they were very impressive. They only have 4 people and their sound was as good and complex as a lot of the bigger groups. I'm a fan. Plus that girl is cute as hell.

If you've never seen the Sing-Off, it's a lot better than your usual singing contest stuff. They actually comment on their technical skills with appropriate terminology. And Ben Folds is one of the judges...that guy is awesome.
