Nah. Don't get me wrong, I definitely dig it, but a lot of those songs are kind of average, and the only thing that brings them up is that creepy, nihilistic atmosphere that Layne Staley brings. There isn't anything on that album that can compete musically with "Rotten Apple" or "No Excuses".

Edit: Well, maybe "Would", but that song could've been on "Jar of Flies" anyway.

I couldn't disagree more. I think No Excuses was very average and Rotten Apple was one of the few songs I could listen to on that album. I think Down In a hole and Would alone crush that album.

I edited my post concerning "Would", and yeah, "Down In a Hole" is a pretty fantastic song, but I think that goes to show that Alice In Chains is actually better when they show a more melodic side. Their metal side can be very hit-or-miss.

I don't know about great, but the singles are pretty sweet. But other than Ten I couldn't give less of a **** about them.

I was never a huge fan of their singles. But Why Go, Porch, Once and Release Me were very good songs.
