"Loads" means "a lot". Loads means more than "just a few" or "a small percentage".

It still means the same thing and if that is not what you mean then maybe you should choose different choice of words such as "some" or "a few" because it comes across like you are generalizing.

It matters because certain songs were not being played because they were deemed as a threat. It matters because that is one of the reasons why he was heavily criticized. I never denied that he was one of the biggest rappers of the time but compared to Biggie, he was not as commercial because of his political opinions and controversy.

I said LOADS because I know of LOADS of records being banned from radio. I'm not generalising at all. Hell even John Lennon had written songs that were banned & that guy has been a staple of radio over 50 years.

Tons of music is anti establishment and commercial at the same time. Banning a record is usually the quickest way to make it sell loads.

I didn't imply that's generally what Hip Hop is. I'm talking about the material out there that pushes gang related violence and feuds between either another rapper, someone else in that same community or some other African American. You're saying outlashes are justified because of black oppression, yet it has been frequently used against others of the same race.

2pac is quite an example of this.

I know songs as well that have been banned in the past

But

You said "loads of songs get banned"

I took that as you implying 90% of songs that are released typically get banned and that is not true. You did not refer to the past when you made that statement

There are songs constantly played RIGHT NOW as we speak on the radio that should technically be banned but aren't because of payola and other political reasons.

That is not necessarily the case for all artists. An artist would have to be established and already popular for a banned song to still sell.

Sex Pistols first single got to No 1 because it was banned, so did Frankie Goes To Hollywood's first single. Alice Cooper's Schools Out was banned that was his first hit, before that they were just a cult band who'd never had any exposure outside the U.S. The Pogues, Fairytale of New York was banned until 2007. They became a household name because of that song, before that only moderately popular in their own genre and in the indie press.

I could go on.

Oh so you are referring to the industry produced "hip hop" on the radio?

What do you mean by "Outlash"?

What is your definition of "Outlash"?

You mean backlash?

How are white people back lashed? lol

2pac did not shoot or hang anybody white. That is an example of an "outlash"/backlash.

He just basically said the system is full of crap and despite a post civil rights era black people are still socioeconomically oppressed. He did not say anything that was not true.

I could go on.

This is not true for ALL artists.

Even Michael Jackson the worlds biggest artist

"They Don't Care About Us" song was banned and did not go to number one.

NWA- F* ck the Police was not even a Top 10 single and even caused the FBI to investigate the group and record label.

I can go on and on

Songs that bashed the system, discuss black oppression, law enforcement, discuss the dominant race "in a bad light".... get banned with the quickness.

I agree with you that yes songs that challenge the establishment, and have the potential to ignite some sort of inner fire in the hearts of many are banned, however I feel the political eye that see's these songs as threat is color blind.
