HOWEVER, Biggie had catchier songs and classics BUT 2pac was far more talented lyrically and as a writer.

I like Biggie but he is overrated. 2pac on the other hand deserves the acclaim he gets.

No, you can't be serious right now?
I think though they are both way way way way over rated though. They are good, but they are not the patron saints of hip hop that they are so often painted as!

Just because an artist sells records does not necessarily mean they are in the media's good graces or they do not get criticized.

It is really misinformed to say Tupac was not criticized. Most of his criticism related to his music and his political opinions on how African Americans were being treated. He didn't only say his political opinions in his music. He boldly stated his opinions in interviews, tv shows, etc.

Why not research the history of how it was created instead of making generic assumptions about what Hip Hop is?

All I said was that he was heavily played on the radio at the time despite what they may have thought of him, which he was.

You might want to take a step back and acknowledge the fact that Hip Hop mostly started out as party anthem club music. Look at Rapper's Delight. It was DJ scratching, MCs doing their thing and Break dancers getting down.
When did I say that Hip Hop does not have dance music?

I don't think I ever implied that. Hip Hop has many sub genres within it as well.I just said that the genre OVERALL was originally created and used as an outlet for black youth and African Americans because of the way the system was treating them. Hip Hop is more than a genre. It is almost a culture within itself and way of life. Break dancing, beat boxing, clothing, music, movement etc is all apart of that.

This is not about conscious hip hop. This is about the history of Hip Hop and how it was created.

Hip Hop was created on the struggles and tribulations of African Americans. Conscious hip hop music or not it was all constructed based on that reason.

I am not passing him off as a "saint". I just think compared to Biggie he was an overall better MC with stronger material. He also cared more about social and political issues that he was willing to lose his career for.

All his political songs were not playing on the radio. Some of his songs were banned from the radio and Biggie had more popular songs than him on the radio.

So?
That's true of loads of artists who still get played a lot on the radio.
As for who got played more I can only go by what I heard at the time and I'd never even heard of Biggie Smalls until after he died, whereas I heard 2Pac constantly on the radio in his lifetime.

Biggie was far more commercial than 2pac.

And some artists have never had a song banned so that is not true for "most artists"

My point was his songs were banned because they were "political"

I didn't say most, I said loads.

And so what if they were banned he still got loads of radio play at the time so what does it matter?
