I wasn't saying name off a bunch of their songs but just at least one.

I do get not knowing a bunch of their songs.

I couldn't name "Photograph" until reading this thread either. Again, I had heard it but didn't know the name and didn't know it was Nickelback until it was posted in this thread.

Jesus, Nickelback. Everything wrong with music right there. If I could take out my brain and scrub any trace of "How you remind me" or "Rockstar" out of it I would. Just awful, awful stuff. I know it's cliche to bag on Nickelback but there is a definite reason for that. They are just so awful in every way.

Simple and boring songs that sound very generic tend to be forgettable after a while as well. If I'm bored of a song, I don't exactly tune in. Happens with several bands. Lately I can't seem to name a recent Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, or Arctic Monkeys song, doesn't particularly mean it's bad. If it were bad I can probably identify it. I can identify Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Green Day, Spice Girls songs. Does that mean I think they're great? No.

The amount of times I've heard "Wouldn't It Be Nice" on TV and didn't actually know for sure that was the title of the song or by The Beach Boys until downloading the album a couple of months ago.

Edit: Just got that wrong.

Seriously? I have the opposite thing happen to me, where I'll be listening to a tune, for months, or even years before it ever gets thrown into a commercial, or a show and I always think to myself. How do I get that job?

I don't get how it's possible to mistake the Beach Boys for ANYONE, unless I'm just not getting the premise

Confused Pet Sounds with Pet Shop Boys by accident.
