Yeah man, nobody will think you're less of a fan of obscure post black ambient drone if you acknowledge the inevitable...
that you know the same pop songs that everyone in the world does. There's no way anyone can be well versed in Sun Ra's back uncatalogued and not know a song by Nickelback, a group that's been polluting not only radio, television and all forms of media play but also as DJ mentioned, shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and even holding tones. |

I don't know man, I only heard Wonderwall the other day for the first time because people in Tinychat found that unacceptable and played it for me.

Nickelback songs aren't complex works of art though, once you hear the chorus you know the song title.

I don't know what to tell you man, I guess I'm not a person who pays very close attention to the lyrics of the music they play at the grocery store or whatever. I have to say it's amazing to me that you're so incredulous about this.

idk it just seems a bit mind blowing to me is all like you have to try really hard to avoid not knowing a song of theirs.

Again, I'm sure I would know some of their songs if you played them to me (for example, as I mentioned before, I recognized "Photograph" once I heard it), I just can't sit here and name songs by them.

I had to try to listen to one. If I've ever been in the presence of those knuckleheads I was blissfully unaware. I can assure you I haven't heard an entire song of theirs as I never listen to popular radio. Maybe they play them in the grocery store, IDK&IDC, I am not paying attention.

The only Photograph song I know is by Def Leppard, and yeah I almost forgot there is one by Ringo Starr too. Idk did Nickelback do a cover of either of them? My unpopular opinion is: many years from now Ringo's Photograph will have more respect than Nickelback's Photograph ...sorry Nickelbackers
