How about that he directly or indirectly influenced virtually every rock guitarist that you're listening to now. If the guitarist claims he wasn't influenced, one of that players influences was directly or indirectly Hendrix influenced.

And it's *Jimi*

This. He is someone worth going deeper than what you hear on the radio.

@Paul Smeenus

That's what everybody keeps telling me i find it hard to believe every good guitar player had to be influenced by jimbo hendrix, what if they didn't like him like me?

oh no wait you claim even if they weren't influenced by him the artist that influenced them was probably influenced by jipper hendrix therefore giving him WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT more than he actually deserves

Jimi's influence doesn't reach that far what i mean is YES he is an influence to strive to be a creative guitar player and a good musician but he doesn't influence musicians to play the kinda music he played

i acknowledge his influence in rock music ok? i may not know how to spell his name correctly but i know Jimi is an icon but giving him credit for influencing every generation of musicians after him it's a bit of an insult to the creativity of those musicians because not everybody is following his foot steps it's like saying every band is directly or indirectly influenced by the beatles even if they never heard of them

Several members of the Wu-Tang Clan have made better albums on their own than what the group made together.

The big deal about him is that he reinvented the way people approach the guitar and played a large role in sparking the psychedelic music scene.

yea i acknowledge that, i want it make it clear i do acknowledge his contribution to music and while i do like some of his songs i draw no influence from him.

it's a personal preference you know? i also don't like the Rolling Stones but i acknowledge their place in rock history
