It was his best album, but what other decent albums has Timberlake been a part of? Nsync? "Sexyback"?
This being his best album has nothing to do with his other albums that came before. They were all different.

I said he made progressive pop music popular, not that he innovated it.

Please refrain from attaching opinions to me that I have not stated.

It's not about belittling pop music at all, it's about giving the right credit to the right people. Jackson gets lots of credit for being one of the biggest selling artists and one of the most popular performers in the world, as he should.

But when it comes to people being credited for being diverse and pushing the envelope of music and being creative he shouldn't be anywhere near that list.
Any of the arguments you're using for him you can use for almost any long term pop singer who's been around a couple of decades.

But nah its JT's lyrics that are immature

You picked ONE song out of 11 albums that Michael has made lol

And I will tell you this and this is the God's truth, I would rather listen to Michael's grunting and unique singing style on BAD and funky production versus listening to JT's waterdown poor man's Suit and Tie.

I have never denied that MJ has corny songs but some of his corny songs are actually pretty good. Overall, he has a very strong catalog.

I'd love to see you try and justify that MJ's lyrics are any better than JT's. I really can't think of anything by MJ that has blown me away with it's lyrics. And I'm not even hating on MJ, I've been pretty clear that I still think his music is great. I just like JT more and don't see how someone could think JT's lyrics are bad lol.

That is not necessarily true.
Most of the pop stars out now are not that creative or experimental with their music. Also, there are pop artists in the 80's and 90s that were not that creative either.

Now I agree that Michael is not the top number one experimental artist of all time but that still does not change the fact that he was creative and artistic in his music as well.

If you have artists that you prefer over him than that's cool and understandable.

There are alot of great artists besides MJ

MJ is not the best best best artist ever in the whole wide world and everyone else is beneath him. lol

There are a ton of great artists

However, MJ was still a great artist that made creative music and was experimental and just because he was "The King of Pop" should not minimize that he was creative with his music as well.
