Objectively speaking, they do not sound the same

Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and Rock with You do not sound the same.

He has a very diverse music catalog.
I didn't say anything about all of his songs sounding the same. I said that I was tired of hearing his music based off of the hits and how much he gets played. It doesn't matter that I haven't heard the other less known tracks. I'm just over MJ for now because he gets played way too much.

Maybe some time in the future like five years from now I might check out those other songs but nope not having it.

Arctic Monkeys debut and their latest album are the only two good albums from them IMO.

No clue how popular/unpopular that opinion is but just putting it out there.

Their second album is also very good imo. But first, second and latest are their best for sure.

If that is your opinion I can dig it because I at least appreciate that you have explained your opinion but not sure why you still think this way after telling you some of the genres he has done.
I still don't think you get it.

They're still pop songs no matter how you dress them up, maybe they are taken from many genres but they're still just pop songs, nothing wrong with that but it's not exactly taking risks with your music so I don't think he should be given credit for doing that.

You can dislike it as much as you want, but please don't ignore the ambition of the "20/20 Experience".
James Brown and Stevie Wonder were doing that back in the 70's way before JT was even born and doing it way better so no I am not going to call that a "unique" approach in pop music. They also used live instruments.

I think 20/20 experience is a very lazy effort because it is the same sounds from his previous albums and the lyrics are very immature. Just because some of the songs are 7 minutes long does not change that.

Now if you like the album, so be it. I will accept that but I don't and that's my opinion.

Gotcha, I will respect that.

I have mixed feelings about their second album. It starts off great but falls apart quickly imo.

I only like the first three tracks.

She just called Justin Timberlake's lyrics immature while she's defending Michael Jackson's music.

Hahahahahahahaha

It still sounds like you have a prejudice towards pop music. I know you say you don't but that is how your opinion sounds. It is good to be open minded.

I personally don't look at music as black or white.

If it is a good song, it's a good song. If it is a creative song, its a creative song regardless whether it is pop or non pop.

.
Creativity has nothing to do with being more or less commercial. Yes, less commercial artists have more flexibility in the creativity area because they are not pressured to produce a hit or something catchy.

However, I have heard some boring and uninspiring songs that were not commercial and by indie artists.

So just because an artist or a song is not as commercial does not necessarily mean that it is more creative than artists or songs that are.

What I am getting from your opinion is, all pop music is not creative because it is accessible and it is all geared toward the radio.

Yes, pop music is accessible
Yes, pop music is geared toward a mass of people

However, just because all of the above are true does not necessarily mean that popular music can not be creative.

Artists like Stevie, Prince, MJ etc are ALL diverse and have ALL made creative pop songs and even if they were not commercial, they still would all be artists who have experimented with more than one genre.

Once again, I've heard lesser known songs by lesser known acts that are not creative so being more or less commercial has nothing to do with creativity.

This is actually a pretty good point, I liked the new Timberlake album, but it was in no way as innovative as some people would have you think, especially Goof, who seems to think it's a pop music masterpiece.

It was his best album, but what other decent albums has Timberlake been a part of? Nsync? "Sexyback"?

Your butt is mine
Gonna tell you right
Just show your face
In broad daylight
I'm telling you
On how I feel
Gonna hurt your mind
Don't shoot to kill
Come on,

Come on,
Lay it on me
All right...

I'm giving you
On the count of three
To show your stuff
Or let it be...
I'm telling you
Just watch your mouth
I know your game
What you're about

[Bridge:]
Well they say the sky's the limit
And to me that's really true
But my friend you have seen nothin'
Just wait 'till I get through

[Chorus:]
Because I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to
Answer right now
Just to tell you once again,
Who's bad...

The word is out
You're doin' wrong
Gonna lock you up
Before too long,
Your lyin' eyes
Gonna tell you right
So listen up
Don't make a fight,
Your talk is cheap
You're not a man
You're throwin' stones
To hide your hands

[Repeat Bridge:]
[Repeat Chorus:]

We can change the world tomorrow
This could be a better place
If you don't like what I'm saying'
Then won't you slap my face...

[Repeat Chorus:]

Woo! Woo! Woo!
(And the whole world has to answer right now
Just to tell you once again...)

You know I'm bad, I'm bad - come on
(Bad, bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know, you know, you know - come on
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
(And the whole world has to answer right now)
Just to tell you
(Just to tell you once again)

You know I'm smooth - I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad - I'm bad baby
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know it, you know it, you know it - come on
(Bad bad, really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
(And the whole world has to answer right now)
Woo!
(Just to tell you once again)

You know I'm bad, I'm bad - you know it
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad - you know - hoo!
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
You know I'm bad - I'm bad - you know it, you know
(Bad bad - really, really bad)
And the whole world has to answer right now
(And the whole world has to answer right now)
Just to tell you once again...
(Just to tell you once again...)
Who's bad?
Wow
Such artisic
Much groundbreaking
Wow

But nah its JT's lyrics that are immature
