I enjoyed The Promise Ring's newest album.
I think My Chemical Romance is a great band, and I listen to them alongside 90's emo. I like Green Day, though I know that "punk" is just their self-proclaimed label to camouflage their power pop songs. I prefer 4/4 time signatures even though it's viewed by some as uncreative.

^One of the hilarious cliches of prog rock reviews is the analysis of time signatures. How it supposedly matters in an objective sense is beyond me. I don't give a flying **** about that part of Close to the Edge that's in 17/16 with Bruford playing a hemiola over Wakeman or some ****.
Also MCR is great fun.

I wouldn't compare MCR to emo, but I can enjoy them greatly when in the mood for some fast paced angsty pop punk.
I don't know why they're so universally hated on, I think it's more their fans than the band that incite anger. |

Okay I'm new, so I'll just go ahead and get this outta the way:
1) Springsteen rocks. (umm, I really don't see a need to throw things) 2) "I Feel Love" by Donna Summer is in the top 10 sexiest songs ever recorded. (stop it I say!) 3) I really really can't get past Lady GaGa's voice-it reminds me of Cher's and annoys the hell outta me. |

Hmm here are a couple of mine-
1) I love U2, Dave Matthews Band, Chicago, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Third Eye Blind, and a couple other bands that most people who have credibility as liking 'good music' seem to hate. 2) A few underrated bands that come to mind are Cast, Lilys, and Ride. 3) I think Oasis was the best band of the 90s. 4) Justin Beiber is not a bad singer. 5) I've always disliked the Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Muse, Guns n Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and a bunch of other bands that are/were really popular (regardless of whether you want to consider them good or not) 6) The Velvet Underground was one of America's greatest rock n roll bands. 7) Im not into searching for good indie music to listen to anymore. If they're really great, I'll hear about them eventually. all I can think of for now... |
