Actually, there are a number of her more recent songs (third album perhaps? no idea what number she's on) such as Part of Me, Wide Awake and The One that Got Away which show a great maturation as an artist especially compared to the contrived nature of her earlier songs like I Kissed A Girl which was purely done as a way to exploit the 'sex sells' theory.
