That really is an unpopular opinion.

There is nothing unpopular about that statement.

Please don't tell me you're serious. Most of their lyrics don't even mean anything, they're just random words either plucked from the dictionary or made up. As was already said you don't listen to Cocteau Twins for deep, meaningful lyrics, if you do you are missing the point. As for the vocals I think Liz Fraser is a wonderful vocalist and she really used her voice as a musical instrument so well, in a way that nobody was doing before.

Ouch! that's a rough one. Though I must confess I am a total sucker for 'Tormatoe'...Don't hunt those whales!

I still enjoy Close to the Edge and Topographic Oceans, though. I love Jon Anderson. But I dunno... I love the weirdness of Drama. It's surprisingly cohesive for two groups who combined on a whim.

Haven't heard it in years, maybe I'll dust it off and give it a listen.

Unpopular opinion, and I see where you are coming from. I think Dig Out Your Soul is their only good album after their first two, but they are all certainly well produced, and contain more classical elements that will appeal to those looking for a lush/refined sound.

But I don't think they are good enough at that to really buy into it, so I just prefer their out-and-our rock and roll sound, because they are good at it.

That's not an unpopular opinion. Even people who like his music find him to be obnoxious and arrogant.
