This one is gospel:

Ronnie James Dio is the Chuck Norris of Music. His high falsetto's are are the nightmares of the gods, and his gelled out mullet is made from the skin of sacrificed virgins.

You fear the dio.

that queen is actually a pretty good band
i know that that's a fairly popular opinion, but most people i meet over the internet or in real life, don't really appreciate them or just plain think they're ****

screamo/metal of any kind is hardly interesting to listen to

Rather Ripped is SY's best album

Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" is 100 times better than Amnesiac and 10 times better than HTTT, 2 times better than In Rainbows

roughly

I thought Avril Lavigne's cover of Metallica's "Fuel" was actually pretty awesome.

not having much technical musical ability is part of the idea of the whole DIY thing. are you feeling alright?

edit: unless what you mean is that punk is devoid of creative talent. in which case you don't even deserve to be allowed to listen to music! heathen!

I think that's more something people base off who's covering it and not the cover. Her cover of Knocking On Heavens Door is also excellent, way way way way better than the Guns and Roses version thats for sure.

Wow...I'll definitely have to check that out.

I always thought Avril would be better suited to doing songs with a little more rock edge...I don't really care for this pop stuff she does all that much. But that's just me!

Thats a rather outrageous opinion for a prog fan to have, especially The Beatles when considering the massive influence Sgt Peppers had on the genre.

And Radiohead? Why the hate for Radiohead? I know they are generally disliked in prog circles but I never understood why. They're undeniably one of the most creative bands currently making music.

I know some prog fans hate that some people think they are prog. But even if they are not prog what they're doing is certainly progressive (not always the same thing). You really telling me theres nothing you like about them?

As for Indie, I hate a lot if myself as anyone here will tell you, mainly modern Indie. But not all of it sucks. I think its kinda crazy to say it does considering how broad a term Indie is anyway. Theres some really good Indie out there. Since you're a prog fan you should at least check out some post-rock and math rock.
