He`s always been one of my music heroes and he was without doubt the creative element and leader of that band. A lot of people under-estimate his solo stuff as well which is also great and has his signature sound over most of it.

Listening to The Soft Bulletin... absolutely hate the singer. Warbling and completely terrible, makes the music unlistenable

I actually feel the same way about The Flaming Lips, can't take Coyne's singing, never could get through any of their albums.

I just mean though the same minus one member, they are pretty different in sound. Can't say one is "way better". Both were brilliant in their own right..
