She's not the female Barry Manilow. The piano is more of a counterpoint to her character-acting antics than a companion in melody. Her thoughtful lyrics are the point. You'll never Sarah Machlachlan shirk chemotherapy (in song) for a blissful, if guilty, limo ride.

I guess I can see her appeal to some..... I guess I didn't get it cause my g/f is really into her and she can actually sing. Like for real is trained in choral music. So I just didn't get it... I still don't.

"Wonderland" by Mcfly is one of the best albums written in the last 10 years.
Radiohead aren't depressing. Joy division are boring. & London calling is too long for me to enjoy it.
