I think it depends on the style you are talking about. "Here are the Sonics" influence would of been a lot bigger when discussing punk rock and grune later on. It's influence and revolutionary qualities would be found in that style more than anything else, more so than that of The Monks most likely. Upon just finishing "Black Monk Time" I can say, The Sonics were more raw and loud, which would go on to be heard in bands like Dead Boys and Mudhoney just to name a few.

I've said it before but they're too prolific for their own good if they weren't releasing an album it was either an EP or a collaboration with somebody else.I think they put out too much material & it's a shame they don't edit down a bit more what they do write. The only album of theirs I can listen to the whole way through is Emperor Tomato Ketchup.
