I don't hate Sigur Ros for his voice.

I hate them because watching paint dry is more interesting.

Like most post-rock...

I don't like them either, but I wouldn't say that.

I'm not entirely sure why I don't like them... it's either Peter Gabriel's creepy stage performances or the sometimes joyful/poppy sound in their music.

you're all certifiably insane

Genesis' Selling England by the Pound is the best thing since chocolate chip cookies were invented

I would much rather listen to bands who play sloppily, are not super skilled with their instruments, whose singer doesn't have a good voice, or play very simple music, than any super technical band with incredibly skilled musicians who write and play extremely complicated music, that stuff just seems so empty and soulless.

Howard the Duck 06-16-2011 01:48 AM

i would rather listen to pure noise than music (well, sometimes)

In the last 60 some years - the 70's, for the most part, was the worst decade for music. It lacked the soul and emotion of the 50's and 60's and the catchiness of the 80's. The top 40 billboard charting songs were as superficial and narrowminded as any top 40 today, yet it was branded as being "free spirted". It was in a purgatory. The 90's is a close second.

The 90s or 50s is the top worst decade of the last 60 years I think.

As for how narrowminded the top 40 was perhaps that depends where you are. The Sex Pistols actually reached number 1 or 2 in the British charts in 1977.

And don`t you think they deserved that lofty position?
