Good - don't. There are a bunch of other bands, like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Yardbirds, The Shadows, etc. that are worth listening to beside The Who. The only thing I have to say about The Who: Tommy and after - Epic Fail.

Calling 'Red' A grunge song is ridiculous, anyway. The only similarity is the fact it uses distorted guitar.

Excuse me?
Sabbath did all that? I thought it was Blue Cheer who single handedly created heavy metal, stoner rock and grunge.

Excuse me?
Nirvana sounded like Melvins now? news to me.

Oh, I said what I said. Most prog-rock is laughable.. I know it has it's fanbase, but I think prog-"rock" is mostly bad. Jethro Tull, first Floyd album and some Crimson is about as good as it got to me.

and no, i am not saying it does not have talent, just saying to me that talent is yawn inducing. Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis and the likes to me are just awful.

It's the Velevet Underground & Nico of The Who, it didn't become popular until decades later when Jerry Bruckheimer got his hands on it. :/

Really? I would've thought "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Behind Blue Eyes", and "Baba O'Riley" made it instantly popular

I despise Tool...like a lot. I don't really talk about it because whenever I do, people act like I just lit fire to a pile of Bibles while eating a baby.

Well, until there's actually a difference between Grunge, and Stoner Rock, I'll contend that King Crimson apparently invented it.

Ok, what's your logic behind prog rock being laughable. I didn't ask whether you said it, or not. I'm gauging on whether or not you know prog, and why you would call the more mature, music centric prog 'laughable' when it's rock n' roll alternative is three chord songs about sluts, and drugs sung by people in bondage costumes, or middle class British kids pretending to be bluesmen.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

While I agree with your statement about progressive rock, I hope that the part I bolded isn't an attack on punk rock...

It is just mostly cheesy to me, I do not relate to it. When I think of bands like Yes, Genesis, ELP and ELO for example, i just find it incredibly boring, cheesy and over indulgent. Too calculated and boring.

I prefer my rock to be more raw, and relatable.

I would like to hear some examples of the rock you are talking about though..

I like music that is usually more simplistic, raw and down home feel.

Overall as I say, most prog is just too cheesy to me, with a few exceptions which I named.

Aqualung is a case of an album I think is well written and well performed, I like Jethro Tull. I like some King Crimson... but the majority of the rest to me is awful.
