If that's your perception, then I think you haven't heard enough Slayer. Some of their songs are straight up loud and fast, which I happen to love, but others are much more slow burning, dynamically building songs like this:

Its a pity more metal bands are not like this! An in your face delivery, is what more metal bands need to do.

Rock stars are incredibly stupid, spoiled, people who don't deserve worship because in most cased their dedication to maintaining imagine is more important to them than producing interesting music.
